How does Yourtun work?
Yourtun is a social media platform where different individuals and people can converge to make new friends, share videos, pictures, send text messages, chat with other users, like content, comment on contents, follow users you like, engage and have fun. To start enjoying the Yourtun platform, create an account on the platform, providing your full name, email address and password. A default username will be generated for you which you can change to any username of your choice once you log into your account.

Is there an age limit?
Yes. You must be at least 15 years of age to be able to post or upload content on the platform. However, if you are below this age limit, and still go ahead to signup on the platform, this will be identified during your ID verification, and will lead to the declined of your verification and deletion of your account from the platform.
Must I provide an email address?
Yes, because your account must be verified via the link sent to your email address. You will not be able to access the platform until you have verified your email address by the link sent to your provide email address.
What is a verified user?
A verified user on the Yourtun platform is a user whose identity has been verified by their government-issued ID. Only verified user are eligible to post content on the Yourtun, and you must be at least 15 years of age to maintain an account and be verified on the platform.
Do I need to be verified to post content on Yourtun?
No, you do not need to be verified to post content on the Yourtun platform. You can begin posting content the moment you signup on the platform. However, you must verify your identity before you will be able to make your first withdrawal from your wallet. You may verify your identity immediately you signup on the platform, or you may wait until you want to make your first withdrawal on the platform before you verify your identity, which ever you prefer.
How do I get verified?
Users get verified by providing their government-issued ID cards for verification of their identity. Identity verification is done by matching the age, full name, and full facial image provided on users account with the age, full name and image on the government-issued ID. Where there is a discrepancy in the age, image or full names, verification will be declined, and the user will be unable to withdraw from their wallet until their verification is complete.
My government-issued ID does not have age on it?
You must provide a government-issued ID that has your age indicated on it. Verification of users whose government-issued ID has no age on it will be declined. You must present a government-issued ID that has your full name, date of birth and full facial image for verification of your identity.
Can my verified status be reversed after I have been verified?
Yes, your verification status can be reversed after you have been verified.
What could be the reason for reversal of verified status?
A users verified status could be reversed for any of the following reasons but are not limited to them; uploading of prohibited content, discovery of provision of false information, inactivity of user account, violation of community guidelines, etc.
What happens if my account becomes inactive?
An inactive account is an account in which the user has not logged into for 30 days. If a user’s account remains inactive for a continuous period of 30 days, by inactive, we mean the user has not been online on the platform for 30 days either to post or view content posted by other users, the account will be disabled and terminated from the portal to allow and accommodate onboarding of new users on the platform. This is so as to manage the disk space and storage capacity of the platform for accommodation of new and active users. In a case where there is sufficient capacity on the platform to manage both onboarding of new users and inactive accounts, then inactive accounts may be allowed to remain on the platform indefinitely without deletion until the users decide to login and access the account again, or until such a time as deemed fit by the platform to terminate and delete such accounts.
What type of content can I post on Yourtun?
You can post various types of content, which include but are not limited to videos, pictures, memes, text posts, blog posts, comedies, skits, poems, poetry etc.
Are they content that are prohibited on the platform?
Yes. All forms of pornographic content are strictly prohibited on the platform. Accounts found in violation of this provision may have their accounts blocked, terminated, or deleted permanently from the platform as deemed fit by the platform. Please refer to our Terms of Use document to see the full list of prohibited content that must not be posted on Yourtun.
What happens to the funds in my wallet if my account is blocked for posting of prohibited content?
Once your account is blocked or deleted permanently for posting of prohibited content on Yourtun, if there are funds in your wallet as at the time of account termination, the funds left on your wallet after the application of all applicable charges, will be credited to your bank account within period of 7 days and above. This will mark the end and severance of your relationship with Yourtun. You are prohibited from opening another account on the platform. If it is discovered that you opened another account on the platform after your initial account have been blocked/deleted, the new account will be blocked/deleted, and any fund in your wallet generated from activities on the platform from the new account will be forfeited.
Are there streaming services on the platform?
Yes, we offer streaming services on Yourtun but on an intermittent basis. The streaming service we offer is not always open and may not be available at all times on the platform. Hence users may utilize the service only whenever it is up and available on the platform. Also note that the streaming services duration is limited. For every period the streaming service is made available on the platform, the specific duration for any streaming session initiated on the platform by a user will be given. It could be for 1 hour, 2 hours, or whatever length of time the platform is capable of sustaining at that time. What this means is, if the streaming service has been made available on the platform, and the duration indicated by the platform is 2 hours for that period of availability which could be for 2 weeks, a month or whatever length of time the platform maintains it, once any user initiates a live streaming session, and the session has lasted for 2 hours, that streaming session will be ended automatically irrespective of the time other users joined the live streaming. Our streaming service would be improved upon over time as the platform develops as we are still putting things in place to achieve a more stable streaming service.
Can I make money on the platform?
Yes, you can make money on the platform by locking your content and having interested users pay to unlock your content. If you have interesting content, you could lock them on the platform for users to pay to view them. If other users like what you upload and feel like there are engaging, and they want to view what you have locked, they could choose to unlock more of your content by paying the price you have fixed for unlocking your content, and thereby earning you more money. You could also make money by having live streaming sessions, and fixing a price for people to be able to access your live streaming activity. You could also receive tips from friends and family on the platform. Hence, you can make money on the platform, but only when users pay to unlock your content, join your streaming sessions or send you tips. These are the basic 3 ways of making money on the Yourtun platform.
Are there any conditions before I start locking content to make money?
Yes. The criteria for you to make money from your locked content is connected to the number of posts you have made on the platform. Before any user can unlock your content by paying to access it, you would need to have made a minimum of 20 posts on the platform to make your content eligible for paid access by other users. Then for subsequent months, you must make at least five posts before your content can be unlocked or eligible for paid access by other users and then you earn money from that.
How many followers do I need to have to start making money?
The number of followers a user has on the platform does not directly influence a user’s ability to make money like on other social media platforms where users are required to have a certain number of followers to be eligible to monetize their content, such as 1000 or 10000 followers and so on. On Yourtun, it is only important to have a good followership so as to have your content viewed by a larger audience, as your ability to make money is directly tied to the number of users that are willing to unlock your content. Followers are automatically and intermittently mapped to users on the platform by default to increase the range of audience for their content, which further aids user’s ability to reach a larger set of people and increase the chances of having their locked content unlocked, and then earn money through this.
Does Yourtun charge users for money generated?
Yes, we charge a fee for all revenue generated through the platform and stored in the user’s wallet. 70% of revenue generated on the platform by users belong to the user, while the platform takes 30%.
How can I make a withdrawal from my account?
To make a withdrawal, log into your account on your mobile device, click on your avatar at the bottom right corner, then click on settings, and then click on the 3 grid-like lines at the top right corner of your screen to display the dropdown menu, then click on your wallet, then click on the withdrawal tab, input the amount you want to withdraw and your bank details, then click on request withdrawal to submit your request.
How long does it take before I am credited?
After initiating your withdrawal, it takes a minimum of 3 working days or more for us to process and credit you with the withdrawn funds to your local bank account. However, the funds may be credited to your local bank account earlier than that, but the standard expectation is 3 working days and above.
Can I make a deposit to my account?
No, we do not allow deposits for now on the platform.
Is there a limit on the size of media files that can be upload?
Yes, video files must be a maximum of 20mb or less, while photo sizes should be also within the same maximum of 20mb as applied to the video files for best results. Note that inputting files above these specifications may lead to upload failure.
How long do my uploaded media and text files stay on the platform?
Media and text files do not remain permanently on the platform. Files are expired or removed from the platform intermittently to manage the disk space size required to maintain optimum performance of the platform. Files uploaded by a user could leave or expire from the site any time between 24 to 48 hours and above after they have been uploaded, so as to manage the platform’s disk space and ensure optimum performance. Expiration or removal of content from the platform is basically based on disk space requirement and the need to effectively manage the platform. As the platform develops the goal is to attain the state where users content are maintained on the website for an indefinite amount of time until such a time as when the user decides to delete them, or they are deleted by the platform for violation of the platform’s Terms of Use and community guidelines.
Can Users delete their files?
Yes, users can delete their uploaded files whenever they choose, except for PPV content that has been unlocked. Once a PPV content has been unlocked, users will be unable to delete it from the platform. This provision may be changed in the future as deemed fit by the platform
